Consultation & Client Agreement

At Maÿaz Micro Loc Studio, every appointment is approached with intention, precision, and long-term hair health in mind. This Agreement outlines the professional standards, expectations, and responsibilities that help us provide consistent, high-quality care while preserving the integrity of your hair and your experience at the Studio.

By submitting a consultation request and/or booking services with Maÿaz Micro Loc Studio, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following:

Consultation

Every new installation, transfer client, and corrective service begins with a professional consultation. The consultation is an assessment only and does not include installation, retightening, or corrective work.

During your consultation, we assess hair and scalp health, density, texture, loc integrity, hair history, current maintenance practices, long-term goals, and the most appropriate service recommendation.

Client Acceptance

Maÿaz accepts clients selectively to ensure every client receives the highest standard of care. Following the consultation, clients may be approved, approved with conditions, referred to another professional, or declined when their needs fall outside the Studio's standards or scope of practice.

Scheduling

Appointments are confirmed only after all required payments or deposits have been received. A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to reschedule. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours incur a $75 cancellation fee. A 15-minute grace period is provided. Clients arriving after the grace period will incur a $30 late fee and may require a shortened appointment, rescheduling, or cancellation.

Hair Preparation

Clients must arrive with freshly washed, clean, product-free, fully detangled hair in its natural state unless instructed otherwise. Hair should be free of braids, extensions, or protective styles. Failure to properly prepare the hair may require additional preparation fees, service modification, or rescheduling.

Maintenance Schedule

Clients are expected to follow their recommended maintenance schedule, generally every six weeks unless otherwise advised. Excessive new growth, delayed maintenance, or corrective work may require additional time and fees.

Aftercare

I agree to follow all aftercare instructions provided by the Studio. Improper home care, excessive manipulation, failure to follow recommendations, or services performed by another provider may compromise the integrity of my locs. The Studio is not responsible for resulting damage.

Payments & Deposits

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. Consultation fees are non-refundable and reserve professional assessment time only. Services exceeding $300 require a $150 non-refundable deposit applied to the final balance. Card transactions are subject to applicable processing fees.

Pricing & Corrective Work

Installation pricing is determined during the consultation based on hair density, length, scalp condition, desired loc size, installation method, and overall scope of work. Corrective work, when necessary, will be discussed before services begin and billed accordingly.

Alopecia & Scalp Conditions

When thinning, alopecia, scalp sensitivity, or compromised density is present, the Studio may modify installation methods, loc sizing, spacing, maintenance recommendations, or decline service when necessary. Hair preservation always takes precedence over cosmetic outcomes. Hair regrowth, uniform density, and long-term retention cannot be guaranteed.

Photography & Videography

The Studio may document services through photography and videography for documentation, education, and marketing. Identifying features will not be intentionally shared without consent. Clients may opt out of marketing use by notifying the Studio in writing before services begin.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are expected to arrive on time, provide accurate information regarding their hair history, communicate respectfully, and follow all Studio policies. The Studio reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service when these standards are not met.

Agreement

By submitting a consultation request and/or booking services with Maÿaz Micro Loc Studio, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Consultation & Client Agreement, the Studio Policies, and the Studio Standards.
